Ducks Hold 8-7 Half time Lead

Berkeley -- The No. 1 ranked Oregon Ducks facing a tough California Bears defense hold a 1-point lead after Cliff Harris returned a 64-yard punt and Dion Jordan took a direct snap and ran in the 2-point conversion. The Ducks went into half time leading 8-7.

Oregon has not been able to effectively move the ball on the California defense and in the first quarter, the Bears forced Oregon turn the ball on downs on its own 49. The Bears drove to the endzone behind Shane Vereen's rushing and took a 7-0 lead when Vereen crashed in from 1-yard out and a successful point after.

Vereen is the game's leading rusher with 72 yards on 15 carries. Oregon's LaMichael James, the country's leading rusher has been held to 34 yards on 12 carries.

Oregon's Darron Thomas is 10-for-21 and 86 yards while Cal's Brock Mansion is 5-of-13 for 31 yards. Overall Oregon holds a 149 to 99 yard advantage in total offense.
