Ducks Lose on the Road to Virginia

The Oregon Ducks lost on the road 63-48 to the Virginia after the Cavaliers' K.T. Harrell hit 20 points and Sammy Zeglinski dropped two big 3-pointers on Friday night.

Mustapha Farrakhan chipped in 17 points to help Virginia go to 7-3 for the season and notch its fourth straight win.

Oregon now 7-4 for the year had 16 points from Joevan Catron had its three-game winning streak snapped. The Ducks got 16 points but the Ducks shot just 34.5 percent overall (19 of 55).

Oregon scored a season-low 48 points in shooting season-lows 34.5 percent on field goals (19-of-55) and 15.8 percent on 3-pointers (3-of-19). The Ducks' assist total (8) was their second lowest of the season. Previous low: 6 assists against Denver on Nov. 13.

After falling behind 4-0 in the early going, the Ducks posted an 15-2 run (from 17:31 to 10:19) to take a 15-6 lead. Virginia opened the second half with a 7-2 run to take a 32-24 advantage with 17:19 to play.

Jeremy Jacob tallied 9 points on 4-of-10 shooting, the most points since his 12-point effort against Duke on Nov. 27. He had missed two of the last five games (including at UVA) nursing an injury.
