Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?
"No. I've been talking to them a lot. I have an offer from Washington though."
What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?
"I've been having a lot actually. Well, not a lot, but since all three years I've been in high school I've been going to the Oregon Nike camp. They went and visited one of my practices earlier this year. I don't know if they were looking at me, Zach (Banner), and our running back, but they were there. Also, I talked with an Oregon coach about three weeks ago on the telephone and we keep in touch on Facebook and stuff like that."
Do you know which coaches from Oregon have been in contact with you?
"I think it was an assistant coach...I can't find his name."
Have the Oregon coaches specified what position they're looking at you at?
"They haven't really said anything as far as what they're looking at me as. As far as I know, I'm an athlete and they're probably recruiting me as an athlete and they're looking to put me in the best position that'll make me a starting player."
Do you have a preference as far as where you'd like to play at the college level?
"Yeah, actually I'd love to play offense, but I know I'm a good defensive guy too. I like getting the ball in my hands and getting in to space and making someone miss and stuff. If I had to choose a position on offense, it would probably be wide receiver -- like slot or something like that. On defense, I'd like to play safety or cornerback."
What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?
"I have a high interest in them actually. I haven't got that offer yet so I'm looking forward to that, but I have interest in them."
Have they discussed in your conversations with them anything about a potential offer coming through for you?
"They say they have a lot of interest in me. That's it."
What is it about Oregon that has you so interested in them?
"I really like their offense a lot. I like their defense too; how they swarm to the football, how they get their players in open space. You can create plays out of nothing. If a play breaks down, you can turn it in to something. You're in that spread, so you're not limited to anything. It's like one play you can turn in to three different plays if you wanted to. If a play breaks down, just go to the next option. I really like the spread offense and getting guys in to open space and their defense is pretty nice too, so it's like a win-win situation."
How would you describe yourself as a player?
"I would describe myself as a player who is humble first, but I have confidence. I'm not cocky, but I have confidence. Every player has to have confidence, so I take that on the field. I just like playing. I didn't even play football until my 7th grade year and everyone told me to play football and when I started playing, I just liked it. Basketball was my first love and my first sport, actually."
Is there a player at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after?
"No. I just play it like myself, but people have told me that I play sort of like a Michael Vick-type."
What are you looking for in a program?
"I'm looking to see if they have business at their college. Also, things like, 'Do I feel at home when I go to the campus?' 'Do I like the coaches?' You gotta have a good vibe about any coach that you're gonna play for cause you're gonna spend a long time with that guy. I also want to know if I can go there and fit in. If I do have to redshirt, could I get the knowledge that I can be ready to play next year and fit in good so I don't look like I'm not ready."
Do you have any offers right now from other schools other than Washington?
"Not at this moment that I know of."
Out of the schools that have offered you or that you've been hearing from, do you have any leaders at this point?
"Not really, I'm just taking it slow. At the end, I'm just gonna evaluate everything and see what best suits me pretty much."
Do you have any plans to go to any camps? Junior Days? Unofficial Visits?
"Yeah, I missed the Oregon Junior Day this past weekend because I had a basketball game. It was at state, but I was supposed to go over there. I have a Las Vegas camp coming up next month. It's like March 18-19 or something like that -- it's a 7-on-7 for our Washington Lakes team. Also, I'm gonna go to the U-Dub camp this summer and also the Oregon camp -- I like that camp a lot...it's just something about it -- and then my team camp at Central Washington University. There's a lot of camps for me to get out there this summer."
