Yeldon Likes The Oregon Spread

A highly sought after recruit from the Southeastern United States, Daphne (AL) three-star running back T.J. Yeldon is looking to make his impact at the collegiate level somewhere outside the state of Alabama.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"Um, I'm not sure. I'm really not sure. I think I do, but I'm really not sure."

What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?

"They just send me mail. They send me mail, that's all."

How often would you say you get mail from them?

"Probably like everyday."

Have you had any contact with coaches from Oregon?

"Yeah, I'm supposed to call coach (Gary) Campbell today."

Are you and coach Campbell in touch often?

"I haven't contacted him yet, but I'm supposed to call him tonight."

What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?

"I like them a lot, but I'm and I don't have any favorite schools or anything right now. I'm just open."

What about Oregon has you interested in them?

"I like their spread offense. I like how they spread it out and get everybody the ball and it's not all clogged up. You can run the ball by spreading the wide receivers out."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"Probably a speed guy. A speed and a size guy. I'm pretty big and I have a lot of speed...4.4 (in the 40)."

Is there anyone at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after?

"Not really. Most people try to compare me to Adrian Peterson, but he fumbles the ball and I don't fumble the ball."

What are you looking for in a program?

"Probably the academics and getting along with the (other) players and being like a family. Coaches too, but you can't always rely on the coaches cause they can leave at any time."

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to study when you get to college?

"Sports medicine."

What kind of offers do you have at this point?

"Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Penn State...I can't really name them all."

Is distance a factor for you at all?

"I'm open to anything. I'm kind of tired of Alabama. I'm kind of tired of Daphne. There's not much to do around here."

Do you have any favorites of the schools that have offered or that you've been speaking too?

"Not yet. I'm gonna start making one getting close to the a top five."

Do you have any plans to go to any camps? Junior Days? Unofficial visits?

"I've been to Auburn and Alabama for their Junior Days, but not right now. Those just kind of came up."
