Seumalo Hearing From Pac-12

As one of the top collegiate prospects in the State of Oregon for 2012, Corvallis (OR) four-star offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo has been hearing from schools all over the country. Despite the fact his father Joe is the defensive line coach at Oregon State, Seumalo maintains he's keeping an open mind throughout the process.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"Yes I do."

When did you receive that offer?

"A couple of weeks ago, I think."

What kind of contact have you had with the coaches at Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?

"I've been e-mailed by coach (Steve) Greatwood and I talked to him and coach (Chip) Kelly as well."

How often are you in contact with coach Greatwood?

"I get an e-mail from him once a week or every other week and I've talked to him over the phone a couple of times."

What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?

"I'd say it's the same with everybody else. I just try to be open about all the schools right now. I haven't really narrowed it down or really thought about a top three or five or whatever."

What about Oregon has you interested in them?

"I do like that they know how to win games. I do like the offensive line coach a lot; he's a real good guy. And I like coach Kelly too."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I'd say athletic, at least that's what I've been told. I also move my feet well and finish since I'm on the offensive line."

Is there anyone at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after?

"Not really, I don't think so."

What are you looking for in a program?

"I guess I want to be comfortable at the area and location (of the school). I really want to like the coaching staff, especially my position coach and academically, I want to get a good degree from a school as well."

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to study when you get to college?

"No I have not (laughter). I haven't really thought that far (ahead) yet."

What are some of the other offers you hold from other schools right now?

"Oregon State, Washington, Stanford, UCLA, and Boise State."

Do you have any plans to go to any camps? Junior Days? Unofficial visits?

"Yeah, I think I'm going to the Oregon Junior Day on April 2 and I think I'm going to the Stanford one in May and I might go to another one. Camps wise, I'll probably go to some Pac-10/12 schools and maybe a couple of Big 12 schools."
