Kiko Alonso was arrested on Sunday on charges of Criminal Trespass, Criminal Mischief and Burglary.
According to the Eugene Register-Guard the Eugene Police Department responded to a 911 call from a woman who reported a strange man pounding on her door. She apparently left her home and when police arrived they found Alonso. Alonso was then arrested and taken to the Lane County Jail for booking.
"It doesn't appear that there was any relationship between the homeowner or Mr. Alonso," Lt. Byron Trapp of the Lane County Sheriff's office told the Register-Guard. "It doesn't appear she had any idea who he was or any indication why he was at that residence."
The paper also reported that police indicated "was not compliant and appeared to be somewhat confused and disoriented." The paper further reported that there was "no indication of substance impairment" in the initial police report.
Alonso served a one-year suspension and sat out the entire 2010 season because of a DUI charge last spring. Alonso was allowed to stay with the team and practice but was barred from any game appearances in a season that saw the Ducks go 12-0 in the regular season and fall 3-points short to Auburn in the BCS Championship game last January. Alonso also suffered a knee injury during the off-season while he was suspended but was fully recovered in time for the start of the spring workout sessions.
Oregon complete its spring workout sessions on Saturday with the annual spring game. Alonso was one of the standouts in the game recording four tackles. Many believe that Alonso would be the starting middle linebacker in the 2011 season, replacing Casey Matthews who was drafted by Philadelphia in the fourth round during last weekend's NFL draft.
