Sewell Could Find Offer At Oregon Camp

Arguably the top skill position player in the State of Washington for the Class of 2012, Bothell (WA) three-star wide receiver Trent Sewell is ready for recruiting to take off.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"I do not."

What, if any, contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?

"I've been talking to the receivers coach, coach (Scott) Frost, and the recruiting coordinator. I've just been getting letters from them and stuff and talking to them as much as I can."

How often would you say that you're in touch with Oregon?

"About every week or every other week or so."

In your conversations with them, have they discussed an offer coming through for you or anything like that?

"Yeah, but some things they need to see is how I would fit in at Oregon with the coaches and the people and the actual players and they really want to see me at camps, so whenever I can get down there I'll hopefully get an offer from them."

Do you have any plans to visit Oregon in the near future?

"Yeah for sure. I'm gonna try and go to the camp."

What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?

"I don't necessarily have a top ten or anything like that, but Oregon is definitely one of the schools that I'm interested in."

What about the school makes them stand out to you?

"I like the way they play, their fast and their aggressive. I liked the spring conversations I've had with the coaches. I've liked them and I've had good experiences with them so far."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I think my strengths are my strength, my speed and my route-running capabilities and I'm able to go over the middle since I'm a bigger receiver. I'm 6'2'', 205 lbs., so I can pretty much be able to take a hit if you need me to go over the middle."

Is there a guy at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after?

"No, I really can't say that I compare myself to too many people."

What are you looking for in a program?

"Whether or not I'm gonna be able to play within the first two years that I'll be going there, what kind of academics are there since there will be life after football, whether or not I have good connections with the coaches and is it a decent program. Is it a program on the rise?"

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to major in when you get to college?

"I've been kind of on the fence about it. I kinda want to do something in business or marine biology."

What are some of the offers that you have from other schools right now?

"Washington State and UCLA."

Outside of those two, what other schools have you been hearing from?

"Washington -- Washington came last week -- Boise State came last week, Oregon State came today, I've been talking to Utah, Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State."

Is there anyone standing out to you out of the schools that have or haven't offered you?

"No, not quite yet. I mean, I really haven't gotten a chance to see too many campuses and once I'm able to do that, that'll pretty much show me who's gonna be towards the top of my list."

Do you have any plans to go any camps or take any unofficial visits?

"Yeah, I'm gonna try to go to as many camps as I can so I can just create as many options for me as possible...I'm trying to go to the Oregon camp and the Oregon State camp, I know I'm going to the Arizona and Arizona State camps, Boise State, Washington and I think Washington State."
