Treggs Visits For Spring Game, Awaits Offer

California is full of top flight wide receivers for the Class of 2012, as Bellflower (CA) St. John Bosco four-star receiver Bryce Treggs is at or near the top of that list. With approximately 15 offers to his name, Treggs talks recruiting and his recent visit to Oregon.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"I do not."

What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?

"I was up there for the spring game and I got to meet with coach (Scott) Frost and coach (Chip) Kelly. Coach (Don) Pellum, he's the one who recruits my area -- he's good friends with my dad, he was a coach or something when my dad was young -- so I have a good relationship with coach Pellum."

What were your general impression of Eugene and your visit to the spring game?

"I liked it. I loved the atmosphere, I loved the city; the thing that impressed me the most was how many people came to the spring game -- I think it was something like 47,000 or something like that. If that many people are coming to a spring game, I can only imagine how many come to an actual game."

How much did you get to interact with the Oregon coaches when you in town?

"Me and my dad, we sat down and ate lunch with coach Frost."

What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?

"I've always had an interest in Oregon. They used to be my favorite school. My interest is very high. I like the offense that they run, I like the atmosphere, I like the's very high up there."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I think I'd compare myself to DeSean Jackson because I'm not the biggest guy, but I'm fast and I run good routes. I'm a big playmaker."

What are you looking for in a program?

"I'm looking for academics first and foremost, I'm looking for a good environment, football tradition, family feeling and the relationship with the coaches."

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to major in when you get to college?

"Yeah, I think I'm gonna major in business."

What are some of the offers that you hold right now from other schools?

"I think I have about 15. I have an offer from Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA, Cal, Oregon State, Notre Dame, Washington, Washington State, Northwestern, Utah, Colorado, Stanford...those are some of the offers."

In your discussion with coach Pellum and some of the other Oregon coaches, have they discussed an offer coming for you down the road?

"I think they talked to my dad about that, but they didn't say anything directly to me. We'll see what happens. Coach Pellum, he's coming down to evaluate me at spring practice next week, so we'll see what happens."

Do you have a top five or a favorites list at this point?

"Not really. I'll probably wait till sometime in July or something like to narrow it down to a top five."

Do you have any plans as far as camps and unofficial visits go?

"I've been to Notre Dame, I've been to Cal, Stanford, Oregon State, Oregon, I've taken all my unofficials."

Have you made any decisions as far as official visits during the season?

"Not really. I know for sure I'll take one to Notre Dame, but that's about it right now."
