Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?
What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?
"I've been having contact with coach (Steve) Greatwood -- the assistant coach and offensive line coach. He watched me work out and he actually came up this summer. We talked about the offer and it sounded good...it sounded real good, in my opinion. As far as contact though, I stay in contact with him as much as possible and let him know I'm interested."
How often would you say that you're in contact with coach Greatwood?
"I'd say about every other week I try to get in touch with him. You know how it is now, college coaches can't call me back, so when he doesn't answer the phone I leave a message."
Has coach Greatwood discussed possibly getting you out to Eugene for a visit?
"Yes. During the summer we talked about a trip to Oregon."
Do you have a specific date set up for a visit?
"No, not right now, but it's probably gonna be around mid July or early August."
What is your overall interest in Oregon right now?
"Right now, it's actually kinda high. I am a big Oregon fan right now. I really like the way those guys play and I like watching them in big games. As far as a favorite, I'm taking it one day at a time and weighing out my options."
What specifically about Oregon stands out to you?
"They have a great tradition at Oregon. I like the offense they play as far as spread-wise...I'd love to be a part of something like that. They're a winning program and that's something I want to do. I want to get out there and win."
Has coach Greatwood specified a position along the offensive line that he likes you at?
"He says I'm more of a guard there. They like me at guard cause I'm physical but they also see me as a physical tackle at Oregon, so they got me as a mixture of guard and tackle depending on the situation."
Do you have a preference as far as the position you'd like to play?
"With me, I can play anywhere on the line whether it's guard, center, or tackle; I can do it all on the line. I don't have no specific areas where I can play, it's wherever they put me at, so that's one of the options I have."
How would you describe yourself as a player?
"I'm a student of the game. I watch the game a lot. I watch a lot of film and watch the guys going against me...that helps my game a lot. I study the game and I watch my opponent."
Is there a guy at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after at all?
"I'm more of a Jake Long type; physical and athletic. (I like) Joe Thomas for the Cleveland Browns and Jonathan Ogden, who played for the Baltimore Ravens...I like those guys and I pattern my game after those guys."
What are you looking for in a program?
"What it's going to come down to is comfort level. Wherever I go, I gotta be comfortable. Also, the opportunity to play for a stable coaching staff."
Have you given any thought as to what you might want to study when you get to college?
