Tackling Machine Hooker Assessed By Ducks

Fontana (CA) A.B. Miller three-star linebacker Reshawn Hooker has seen his recruitment explode over the past few weeks as coaching staffs from schools across America reconvene and make their spring assessments.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"No sir."

What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?

"I talked to coach (Don) Pellum earlier in the year and then the defensive coordinator (Nick Aliotti) came out to see me and gave me an assessment and I haven't heard from them since then."

Do you remember how long ago it was when the Oregon coaches came out and gave you an assessment?

"It was during the spring...a couple weeks ago."

What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?

"I'm very interested in Oregon."

What about Oregon stands out to you?

"The speed of their defense."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I'm hard working, loyal, I'm an on-time guy, work hard, fast, I get after it..."

Is there a player at the collegiate or professional that you try to pattern your game after?

"I'm kinda like Ed Reed."

Have the coaches at Oregon specified whether or not they like you at linebacker or safety?

"They like me as an outside linebacker or strong safety-type."

Do you have a preference for which position you'd like to play?

"I'm open to whatever."

What are some of the big things you're looking for in a program as you go through the recruiting process?

"I want the football aspect of it -- to win and what not -- but I want the surroundings to be fun and I want to be set academically and have career support and all that."

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to study when you get to college?

"Either criminology or kinesiology."

What are some of the offers that you hold from other schools?

"I have Arizona State, Arizona, Boise State, San Jose State, Washington State, Colorado State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Nevada, Purdue, Colorado, and Fresno State."

Have there been other schools that you maybe don't have an offer from but have been in contact with?

"UCLA and USC."

Out of the schools that you've been hearing from, do you have a favorites list at this point?

"I could say UCLA, Boise State and Arizona State."

As far as camps and unofficial visits go, where have you been and where do you plan on going this summer?

"I'm going to a camp this Sunday at USC and then the next Sunday I'm going to UCLA for a camp."
