Kelly Responds to Harris' Citation

Oregon cornerback Cliff Harris was cited on Sunday morning for speeding while driving with a suspended license. Harris was stopped by an Oregon State patrol officer as the star football player was headed southbound on I-5 near Albany. Oregon Head Coach Chip Kelly issued a statement on Monday afternoon regarding the citation.

"We are obviously very disappointed in the lack of judgment exercised by Cliff and feel it's unacceptable," Oregon head football coach Chip Kelly said in a released statement.

"I've said from the beginning that it should be a privilege to play football at the University of Oregon. With that said, individuals must bear the responsibilities for their own behavior. Once we have finished collecting all the information in this situation, we will determine the appropriate action."

According to the Eugene Register-Guard Harris was driving in excess of 100 mph. The fine, according to The Register-Guard for such a violation is $1,148.
