Williams Will Take The Easy Approach

Being the beneficiary of having a top-flight quarterback the likes of Brett Hundley on his team last year, Chandler (AZ) three-star wide receiver Javon Williams is looking to parlay his success last season in to a strong senior campaign.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"No, not yet."

What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?

"It started about three months ago. They came down and pulled me out of class and talked to me and told me that they were interested and that they were gonna do background checks to make sure I'm a good student...they took my film and said they'd look at it, so they're kind of still doing that."

Which coach from Oregon have you been in contact with?

"(Wide receivers) coach Scott Frost."

Has coach Frost discussed with you when you might expect an offer or anything like that?

What is your overall interest in Oregon right now?

"I like that school; it's a really nice school. I've been there plenty of times -- I been there for track and my cousin (Dion Jordan) goes there. I know a lot about the school and how they work everything."

If Oregon were to offer you, where would that offer stand for you?

"I'm actually not sure yet. I haven't started dismissing schools or anything. I'm waiting for all my offers to come in and taking the recruiting process slow and letting everything develop."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I'm a big, tall, fast receiver, I've got good feet for my height and I can catch."

Is there a guy at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after?

"Randy Moss."

What are you looking for in a program?

"Just a place to focus on football and school, a safe, family environment, somewhere that pass the ball a decent amount of times and something that fits me."

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to study when you get to college?

What are some of the offers that you hold from other schools?

"Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Washington, Washington State, Oregon State, Montana, Colorado, Utah, basically all the Pac-12 and Purdue and some East Coast schools."

Are there schools that you've been in contact with or that you have offers from that are standing out to you at this point?

"I'd say Oklahoma State and Arkansas."

As far as camps and unofficial visits go, where have you been and where do you plan on going this summer?

"I was supposed to go to Oregon because I was supposed to run in the Nike Track Nationals, but my team ended up not going. I was supposed to just go there for an unofficial visit (while I was there) and to visit my cousin, but by that time it was too late because plane tickets were real high and we couldn't afford it at that time. I've been to San Diego State on a visit, I've been to Arizona State and Arizona, I've been to Oregon a lot with my cousin and I've been to USC."
