Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?
"Yes, that's right."
Describe the kind of contact that you've had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?
"They didn't contact me during the season, but after the season I started getting mail and I started getting phone cards, so I called coach (Don) Pellum, the linebackers coach. We talked a little bit and I found out he was taking a red eye to (Washington) Dulles (International Airport) to come talk to me and then he was taking a flight back, so once I figured that out I thought they were gonna offer me."
Has coach Pellum been the only coach from Oregon that you've been in contact with?
"Yes, that's correct."
How would you describe the relationship you have with coach Pellum up until this point?
"I mean we talk every now and then. I haven't called him lately, but he's a cool guy; he's one of the coolest coaches that I talk to. I think we'd really have a good bond if I went (to Oregon)."
What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?
"It's definitely at the top of my list -- not the top one -- but it's one of the top schools. I just have a good feel for them. They have a really good team with a lot of good coaches. I prefer the 3-4 defense and they run that. They have good academics -- good sports marketing program -- and that's what I like about them."
Has/will any of the negative attention in the media surrounding Oregon affect your decision one way or another?
"No, it doesn't have any effect on me. I doesn't change my perspective of them."
How would you describe yourself as a player?
"I'd say I have a lot of awareness on the field; I know what's going on. I've got a feeling when a player is going another way, I can read what lineman's stance is and whether it's gonna be a pass or if it's gonna be a run depending on how their foot's planted and how much weight is on it. I use my speed a lot...I'm strong, but I'm more of a finesse football player."
Have the Oregon coaches specified the position at which they're recruiting you at?
"It's outside linebacker...hybrid."
Is there anyone at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after?
"I think I have a similar skill-set and body type as Robert Quinn from North Carolina. I try to model myself after DeMarcus Ware; I try to use his moves and what he does."
What are you looking for in a program?
"Academics -- a good sports marketing program or business program -- good coaches -- ones that I can relate to -- the recruiting class of 2012 -- how I relate relate to them socially and talent-wise -- and a place that feels like home."
Is distance a factor for you?
"It's not a big thing for me, but if a place feels like home, I'll go."
What are some of the offers that you currently hold right now?
"Oregon, Notre Dame, NC State, North Carolina, Illinois, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh, Michigan, Michigan State, UCF, Wake Forest, Boston College, Maryland, Duke and I think that might be it."
Do you have a top five or a list of favorites or a group of schools that is standing out to you right now?
"Not really. I know who I'm going to have though and I'm gonna start calling them soon."
Are you able to share which schools those are?
"No. I want to tell them before they find out elsewhere."
As far as camps and unofficial visits go, where have you been and where do you plan on going this summer?
"I have visited North Carolina -- I went to a camp there, a one day -- and I'm planning on visiting Virginia since it's only an hour away from me. I'm planning on taking one official visit during my football season and then four after my football season; Oregon and Notre Dame will be two of them."
Do you have a certain timetable for when you'd like to make a decision?
"I plan on National Signing Day or maybe before."
