Marshawn Lynch

Marshawn Lynch is a 5-11, 195-pound running back/defensive back from Oakland (Calif.) Tech, and Lynch made his case for being one of the top running backs in the state of California by a solid workout Saturday at the NoCal Nike camp.

"I just kept my head on straight and didn't let anyone get in my head," Lynch told TheInsiders Saturday. "I also learned some great running techniques that our position coach (Michael Fletcher) taught us."

Marshawn ran a 4.41 40, 4.19 shuttle and jumped 34.4 inches in the vertical jump.

But don't assume that Lynch was an unknown quantity going into Saturday. In fact, he currently has scholarship offers from California, USC, Utah and Washington State.

But Lynch's heart is up north. "I really want to go to Oregon," he said. "I just like their style of play. And I know now that some of their coaches went to Cal, so I wouldn't mind going to Cal either. But I'm going to take some trips before that happens."

With word coming from teammate Virdell Larkins that he expects both himself and Lynch to be offered by the Ducks soon, could it be that Oregon quickly picks up their second verbal commitment? Or maybe Lynch and Larkins go to Eugene as a package deal?
