Betts Hearing From Some Of The Nation's Best

With one running back having already verbally committed, the Ducks may be looking to the junior college ranks to find a complementary back who is hearing from some of the nation's top college football programs. Meet Costa Mesa (CA) Orange Coast running back, Domenic Betts.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"I don't, actually. I know my coach talked to them and he told me that they were interested in me, but he didn't tell me that I had an offer from them, so I really don't know."

What kind of contact has Oregon had with you or your coach since the recruiting process started for you?

"Really, they've just been talking to my coach and asking if I'm almost ready to graduate."

Do you know which coaches from Oregon have been in contact with you and your coach?

"Not really. I know he was saying that he was talking to Chip Kelly...I know Chip Kelly was one of them."

Has there been any discussion between you and your coach about Oregon coming by to visit your school?

"Actually, I think the visiting starts next semester. I know (my coach) said that I have a lot of visits that I might go on, so hopefully next semester I'll take some visits and stuff."

Has your coach told you some of the other schools that have been in contact with you?

"Yeah. He said LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Florida and some (other) schools in the SEC."

Is staying on the West Coast something you're looking to do, or are you open to going wherever?

"It doesn't matter to me. Wherever that plays football is a fit for me."

What is it about Oregon and their program that has you interested in them?

"I just love how their striving to get better. They're the best team in the Pac-12, they have nice uniforms, everything...nice school, I think they have the number one facilities too."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I'm always trying to score. I'm always looking to score on every play, every time I touch the ball. I'm pretty fast and I have good vision."

Is there a guy at the collegiate or professional level that you try and pattern your game after?

"I guess LaMichael James. We run just alike, or at least are very similar...I'm 5'10'', 190 lbs."

What are you looking for in a program?

"Mainly just a winning program. A winning program, good help and good coaches, everything...A good tradition. Other than that, it really doesn't matter."

What are you planning on completing your degree in once you get to a four-year program?

"Business. I'm gonna get my Bachelor's for business."

Do you know for certain what offers you may currently hold from other programs?

"I do not know for sure."

Do you have a timetable for when you'd like to have a decision made?

"Probably by June of next year."
