Bair Follows Brother's Footsteps To Oregon

Much like his brother, former Oregon defensive tackle Brandon Bair, Council Bluffs (IA) Iowa Western Community College three-star defensive tackle Stetzon Bair wasn't highly recruited coming out of high school. Since then however, Bair has blossomed, recently making a verbal commitment to play for his brother's alma mater.

Are you committed to the University of Oregon?

What about Oregon made you feel like it was the right place for you?

"Obviously the coaches. I love the coaches and my fiancee took the time to pray about it and we felt like that's where we needed to go. It feels right."

Your brother Brandon played at Oregon. How much of an impact did that have on you verbally committing to the Ducks?

"It had quite a bit of impact on me, really. When he was going there, I got to meet the coaches a lot more than most recruits do, just [because] being around [Brandon] and going to see him. I got to know the coaches before they even recruited me. It was really good just to get to know them and have that kind of relationship [with them] outside of football."

Describe your relationship with coach Jerry Azzinaro. How do your personalities mesh?

"Coach Azzinaro is an amazing man. I love that guy. He's done so much for me when he really didn't even have to. He's one of those guys who will break his back for you. He's definitely going to do whatever he possibly can to make you get the best not only as a player, but as an individual."

What was coach Azzinaro's reaction when you told him you were committing?

"He was way excited. He was really happy I wanted to be a Duck and he welcomed me to the family and everything. He was way excited about it. He said, ‘We're going to do everything we possibly can to make sure we get you out here when we need to.' He's been really helpful, especially when I'm going to be getting married before getting out there. He's been really helpful with that and really understanding about that, as well."

What position along the defensive line is Oregon evaluating you at?

"Right now, I believe it's defensive tackle. There's a few possibility at [defensive] end, but right now I think it's defensive tackle is what they're recruiting me for."

How big are you right now?

"I'm about 6'8'', 270 lbs."

In your mind, are you finished with the recruiting process as a whole?

"Yeah. I've already told the other colleges that I'm committed to Oregon."

Who were some of the other schools that were looking at you?

"Utah and Weber State both offered me a full ride [scholarship]."

When do you plan on arriving in Eugene?

"I'm planning on going out there in June."
