Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?
"No. Not right now. It hasn't been presented to me."
What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?
"My head coach is in contact with Oregon. Coach [Don] Pellum came down maybe a month ago and talked to me -- he's the linebacker coach and the recruiting coordinator -- and then I have a contact with my recruiting coordinator, Scott Frost."
How often have you or your coach been in contact with Oregon?
"With me, maybe once every couple of weeks, but my coach talked to them within the last week. The recruiting director asked for my transcripts and everything and that's usually a good sign."
What kinds of things have the Oregon coaches discussed with you and/or your head coach?
"They said they like my film, they said I'll be a good fit for Oregon because they play fast football and I have the speed to play with them like De'Anthony Thomas -- I ran track against him when he was in high school. I definitely got the speed to play at Oregon, it's just getting the opportunity to get up there and check it out."
What is your overall interest in Oregon?
"I'm real interested, actually. I've been up there the last two summers for Nike Track Nationals -- because my high school made it the last two summers -- and I like the feel and I like the campus from what I've seen already and I know that the academics are good and the football is big-time football, so that's always a plus."
How would you describe yourself as a player?
"I'd describe myself as the guy who makes the plays. On my team, I was kind of called upon when we needed a touchdown or we needed a first down or we needed a big play to be made, so I'm the big playmaker for my team. I can do everything. I pride myself on blocking and helping Tyler (Bruggman), our quarterback, out and reading the defensive schemes and kind of knowing what to do at all times and being a student of the game."
Is there a guy at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after?
"The guy you probably know about me being the most like is Jeff Maehl. Just a little faster [than him], like De'Anthony Thomas."
What are you looking for in a program?
"First off, academics, cause that's what everybody is looking for first. Secondly is the campus life -- if I would want to live there if I didn't have football to play -- so that would be the second thing and third would definitely be football and the program and the coaches and the staff that are going to be there when I get to college."
Have you given any thought as to what you might want to study in college?
"Not really. Maybe engineering -- chemical engineering, mechanical engineering -- or something to do with sports, like sports broadcasting or sports medicine, so I can at least stay around what I love."
What are some of the offers you currently hold from other schools?
"I have offers from Stanford, Arizona State, Arizona, Oregon State, Michigan, Purdue, Duke, Colorado State, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and I think that might be it. Oh, and Washington."
Is there any other schools that haven't offered, but that you've been hearing a lot from?
"I've been in contact with Notre Dame, Michigan State, Nebraska and Oregon, UCLA, USC a little bit."
Do you have a top five or a list of favorites at this point?
"I wouldn't say I really have favorites...It's just based on what I've seen cause I've only visited a few places, so I can't really judge off of what I've seen cause I've never seen some of the colleges that have offered. I definitely want to get out there and visit all of the colleges that have shown interest and may have interest in the future."
As far as camps, unofficial visits, and Junior Days go, where have you been and where do you plan on going over the next few months?
"I've visited unofficially Stanford, I went up to USC's Junior Day last week and I have a visit with Arizona State today and I had a visit last month with Arizona State. I'm planning on this coming Sunday visiting the University of Washington. That's everything that's concrete. I'm trying to maybe get up to Notre Dame, Nebraska, Ohio State -- Ohio State is one of the other schools that are showing me interest, so I'm trying to get up there cause that's where my dad went. I'm trying to get up there over the summer, visit some family and get around that Midwest area."
