An Oregon Offer Would "Tempt" Harris

Even though he plans on taking his Mormon mission before even enrolling with a college, Gunnison (UT) Gunnison Valley linebacker Braden Harris will be one of the more highly recruited players hailing from Utah in 2013. What would an offer from Oregon mean to Harris? Read to find out...

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"I don't."

What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?

"They mail me a ton of stuff and then they e-mail me or my coach or call weekly. They always call or e-mail...It's pretty consistent here."

In some of your correspondences with Oregon, what kinds of things have they been saying to you?

"Pretty much they just want me to come up to their camp or come up to a Junior Day; they just want to see me in person and see what I can do in pads. They said they like my highlight film that I sent them."

Do you recall the name of the Oregon coach who's been e-mailing and calling?

"I don't cause they usually just e-mail my coach and my coach just kind of shows me the e-mails."

What are your thoughts on attending an Oregon camp or Junior Day? Have you made any plans for that yet?

"Yeah, I think I'm going to try and make it out for a camp."

What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?

"Oh, it's high. I would like to stay in the state of Utah, but I think if Oregon offered, I'd be really tempted to go out there cause it's one of the top programs in the nation."

What about the school and the program stand out to you?

"They're always consistent and they always win and they have a good program overall and the university seems really good too for academics."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I'd describe my game as I'm really physical and I make plays; when the ball goes away, I'm going to be there, I'm going to chase it down from behind. I just have a nose for the ball."

Is there a player at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after?

"I really like Patrick Willis for the San Francisco 49ers and how he plays linebacker...I just like how physical he is and how he just finds the ball no matter where it's at."

What are you looking for in a program?

"Academics is probably really big and then obviously winning and how the university is set up and their standards."

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to study when you get to college?

"I thought about physical therapy or something pre-med."

As a Mormon, are you planning to go on your mission before enrolling in college or after?

"My birthday's in August, so I'll turn 19 right before I enroll in college, so I'll probably take a mission before I even step on to campus or play football."

What offers do you currently hold from other programs?

"I have one from Utah State. BYU and Utah are pretty much the same as Oregon: They want me to come up to their camp. I'm pretty sure BYU is going to offer me when I go up. I'm going up there tomorrow and Utah State tomorrow."

Are you hearing from any other programs who have not offered you yet?

"I went on a visit to USC a couple weekends ago and Boise State wants me to come up, Cal, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Colorado, Wyoming...just all of them have sent me stuff."

As far as camps, unofficial visits, and Junior Days go, where have you been and where do you plan on going over the next few months?

"I've been to USC, BYU, Utah, Utah State, I'm planning on going to Boise State in April and that's all I have planned for sure right now. I think I'm going to try to hit up Oregon and Colorado or Wyoming."
