In the men's 5,000 meters, senior Chris Kwiatkowski registered an outdoor personal best by running 14:02.46 to finish fourth. Sophomore Brian Shrader was ninth in 14:33.02.
Freshman Greg Skipper placed third in the men's hammer with a best throw of 199-3/60.73m.
The USC Trojan Invitational continues Saturday and includes the debut of redshirt freshman javelin thrower Sam Crouser at 10:15 a.m.
