Molly Grabill 5K Winner

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Freshman Molly Grabill won the women's 5,000 meters in her first outdoor race at that distance Friday to highlight Oregon's day at the USC Trojan Invitational.

The Poway, Calif., native crossed the line in 16:40.08 on a light first day schedule at Loker Stadium-Cromwell Field. That was 10 seconds faster than runner-up Katja Goldring's 16:50.59.

In the men's 5,000 meters, senior Chris Kwiatkowski registered an outdoor personal best by running 14:02.46 to finish fourth. Sophomore Brian Shrader was ninth in 14:33.02.

Freshman Greg Skipper placed third in the men's hammer with a best throw of 199-3/60.73m.

The USC Trojan Invitational continues Saturday and includes the debut of redshirt freshman javelin thrower Sam Crouser at 10:15 a.m.
