The win for the Bruins is their 18th in a row while the Ducks dropped their sixth conference loss of the year.
Oregon's most impressive effort came in the doubles portion of the dual. After sitting out for 75 minutes due to a rain delay that postponed the match start time to 1:30 p.m, the Ducks No. 1 doubles team of junior Patricia Skowronski and freshman Sofia Hager came out firing. The Ducks tandem defeated the No. 11 ranked doubles team in the nation in UCLA's Robin Anderson and Skylar Morton, 8-3. The win for Skowronski and Hager is their eighth of the spring, all at the No. 1 spot.
In singles, the Ducks hung tough, but the depth of UCLA proved too much to overcome. Oregon's best performance came from Hager whose first set came down to 5-5 before Chanelle Van Nguyen broke away at 7-5 and didn't look back in the second set winning, 7-5, 6-1. Van Nguyen is the No. 84 ranked player in the country, one of seven Bruins in the top 125.
Oregon returns home for their first dual in Eugene in 20 calendar days when they take on the University of Utah (Apr. 6) and Colorado University (Apr. 7) next weekend.
