Lacrosse: Oregon 20-10 Winner

Oregon's women's lacrosse team beat Cincinnati, 20-10, as sophomore Nikki Puszcz recorded five goals on Sunday in a game played at South River High School in Edgewater, Maryland.

Duck Lacrosse Overpowers Cincinnati, 20-10 Oregon is now 7-4 for the year and got the first goal of the match when Puszcz was fouled allowing for a free shot. The Ducks took the lead and scored seven straight more goals before Cincinnati could respond.

At the end of the first half Oregon led, 11-7.

Even though Cincinnati scored the first goal of the second half, Oregon went on to record eight unanswered scores before the Bearcats could score again.

The Ducks now own a 3-0 record against the Bearcats all-time.

Oregon returns to Eugene for the weekend for a pair of MPSF matches as they face Fresno State on Friday (Apr. 6) at 4 p.m. and UC Davis on Sunday (Apr. 8) at 1 p.m. Both matches will take place at Pape' Field.


The last time Oregon tallied 20 or more goals in a match was to open the 2010 season when the Ducks scored 22 on both Jacksonville and St. Bonaventure.

The Ducks recorded a season-high 34 shots.

UO caused a season-high 20 turnovers.

Nikki Puszcz put up a career and season-high five goals and took a career-high seven shots.

Kate Cathell scored two goals in a match for the first time in her career.

Jana Drummond recorded a season-high four goals… Drummond also grabbed a career-high seven draw controls…

Shannon Propst scored three goals in a single match for the third time this season and fifth time overall in her career.

Propst also added five points for the second time this season and in her career.

Kristina Barrett is now second all-time in assists with 62 as she recorded one assist on Sunday…Salliebeth Finnegan now has 200 saves in her career.

Drummond has 126 draw controls for her career, moving her to third all-time.
