Ducks Beat Bruins 5-2

Oregon relied on two Aaron Jones home runs to propel the No. 22 Ducks past the No. 5 UCLA Bruins, 5-2 at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Los Angeles on Thursday night.

Oregon (19-8, 7-3) got seven shutout innings from right-hander Alex Kuedell,who is now 4-3 on the season.

Jones leads the Ducks with five home runs for the season hit a two-run homer in the third inning and a solo home run in the seventh as part of his 2-for-5 hitting performance.

Game two of the series is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start from Jackie Robinson Stadium on Friday. Freshman right-hander Jake Reed (2-2) is expected to start for the Ducks against UCLA sophomore right-hander Nick Vander Tuig (3-1).
