Prevot Schedules His Official Visit To Oregon

Blessed with a long, lean frame, Houston (TX) Taylor four-star defensive end/outside linebacker Torrodney Prevot was born to rush the passer. After being paid a visit from Oregon and receiving an offer from the Ducks last week, Prevot sat down with eDuck Sports to discuss what he likes about Oregon and his plans for an official visit to Eugene

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"Yes sir."

What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?

"They weren't really recruiting me at first, but for the past month or so, we've been talking a lot more. They came to my school and offered me and I actually set up an official visit with them?"

When is that official visit going to be?

"October 5th."

Who was the coach from Oregon who offered you last week?

"Coach (Don) Pellum."

With coach Pellum visiting you, is it safe to assume they prefer you at linebacker?

"Yeah he wants me at linebacker...He wants me to get after the quarterback a lot."

In your conversations with coach Pellum, what has he told you that he likes about you?

"He said I have a lot of speed, I've got a good first step, and I can get after the passer."

Is that a role you're accustomed to playing right now in high school, or is that something you'd have to transition in to?

"I'd have to transition to it a little bit, but I run sometimes at linebacker and I'm actually going to be playing 7-on-7 as a linebacker. I haven't had to do much at (linebacker), so it'll be a transition, but it'll be easy."

Is playing defensive end over linebacker or vice versa going to play a factor for you when you're deciding between schools?

"Not really. I'll play either position as long as I'm able to compete."

What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?

"I'm very interested in Oregon. Like I said, I set an official with them, so I'd have to be interested (laughter)...I know they're very fast. Like, everybody on their team runs 4.4...all their linemen run 4.8's or something. Everybody's fast and I like the tempo that they go."

Does the fact that they've had a significant presence in Texas in the past play a factor for you at all?

"No, that doesn't really play a factor in to my decision. It doesn't really matter whether I stay home or go far. I'm good with either way it goes."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I'm a very good team leader; you'll always see me coaching on the field and trying to help out the team and stuff like that. I'm very aggressive, but I need to gain some more weight."

What is your weight at right now?

"It's at about 215 lbs. right now...I probably want to get to about 230 or so."

What are you looking for in a program?

"First is the academics, second is the coaching staff, third would be the way the team interacts with each other and how they are on the field and if they're vocal and how the coaches interact with the players."

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to study when you get to college?

"Business management."

Do you have a top five or a list of favorites at this point?

"No sir, I don't."

You mentioned that you have an official visit set up for Oregon, do you have any more visits or plans to attend camps scheduled out over the next few months?

"I've only been to LSU and Texas A&M on unofficials and I only have Oregon set up (as an official) on October 5 so far."

Are there any other schools that you're planning on setting up a future visit with?

"Probably LSU and I don't really know who else."

Do you have a certain timetable in mind for when you'd like to have a decision made?

"Probably early next school year."
