Tabuyo Looking Forward To Oregon Visit

Eager to prove himself once again after suffering a devastating knee injury last fall, Honolulu (HI) St. Louis three-star wide receiver Jeremy Tabuyo is headed to the mainland this weekend where he hopes to score additional offers.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"No, not at the moment."

What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?

"I have contact with coach (Steve) Greatwood and coach (Scott) Frost. I talk to coach Frost here and there and I think they said they watched my film as a coaching staff...He said he watched it and he likes the way I play and the way I attack the ball and my speed."

Has coach Frost or coach Greatwood discussed with you what the next step might be in potentially receiving an offer?

"I'm going up there this weekend to Oregon. I'm going to do a workout in front of them and then the next day I'm going to do an unofficial visit."

What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?

"I have a lot...a lot...of interest in Oregon. They're one of my top schools I would say."

What is it about Oregon that has you so interest in them?

"What stands out to me is, I like their offense that they run -- the fast paced, no-huddle offense -- and I definitely like the athletic facilities. I'm really excited to see how that is when I go up there."

Marcus Mariota also attended St. Louis. What is your relationship with him?

"We talk about Oregon. We have a good relationship. Me and him, before he even went up to Oregon, would always throw balls on Sunday; he would throw and I would catch balls from him on Sundays. We're real good friends."

You're coming off a knee injury you suffered last season. What is the status of your knee right now?

"My knee right now has been really great. I'd say I'm about 90 percent now. It feels real good; I can get in and out of my cuts, but not as fast as I would want to, but I'm still getting out of my cuts fast enough. It doesn't bother me when I'm playing, it's just after a workout, it'll get tight. It's just what happens."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I would say that I'm aggressive; I'm not only aggressive attacking to the ball and catching the ball, but I also block. I would say I'm a team player, also. I like to block for my teammates because the offensive line blocks for the quarterback and running backs and I like that the receivers also block."

Is there a player at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after at all?

"I like how DeSean Jackson plays sometimes because he uses speed a lot on his routes."

What are you looking for in a program?

"Just the chemistry with the coaching staff, getting along with the coaching staff, so that's one of the main things; I would like to get along with the coaching staff a lot. Also, the facilities and the environment of the school."

Do you know what you might want to study once you get to college?

"Yeah I'm debating between sports medicine and business."

What are some of the offers that you currently hold from other programs?

"Right now I hold offers from Utah, Wyoming, Hawaii, and Kansas."

Are there other schools out there that you've been in close contact with, but have yet to receive an offer from?

"Washington State, Washington, Oregon State and I've been getting letters from Alabama, Tennessee and that's about it that's real serious right now."

Do you have a top five or a list of favorites at this point?

"Not at the moment. I'm going to make a top five sometime during the summer so I know what to look at more seriously after the football season."

As far as camps and unofficial visits go, where have you been and where do you plan on going over the next few months?

"Well so far, I did take an unofficial visit to Hawaii this past week. I'm going to take an unofficial to Oregon State and Oregon."
