Derrick Green told Courtney that right now he's working hard this offseason and that he plans on attending a "couple camps" this summer. On June 22, he plans on heading to Atlanta to compete in the Rivals 5-star camp and then July 5-8, he'll be in Beaverton for The Opening, which will be held once again at Nike headquarters.
As far as Oregon goes, Green says he and Oregon running backs coach Gary Campbell have stayed in touch regularly over the phone and through Facebook. Green says they've built a "real good relationship" to this point. His goal is to take an unofficial visit to Oregon sometime this summer, but he doesn't anticipate that it will coincide with his trip to The Opening in July. Campbell was in Virginia twice during the May evaluation period to see Green, where according to Green, Campbell told him that he, "was the the back that he wants."
At this point, it sounds like there's a bevy of coaches that have been recruiting Green very hard. Expect this recruitment to linger deep in to the fall.
This report comes from Courtney's post on Talefeathers.
