Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?
What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?
"Well my defensive backs coach, he knows coach Don Pellum somehow -- the linebackers coach -- and he came down to my school and talked to me and everything. We exchanged (phone) numbers and ever since then, I've been calling them weekly. Him and the defensive backs coach (John Neal), we've been communicating weekly and last week I called him."
In your conversations with coach Pellum and coach Neal, what kinds of things have they discussed with you?
"Coach Pellum and coach Neal was saying that they like the way I play with passion and the way I'm aggressive on the field and my size; they like my size. They were very impressed when they came down to see me coverage wise. As far as an offer, they said maybe a visit would help get an offer, which would (happen) over the next two months, I believe."
Have you made any plans to take a visit to Oregon?
No, I haven't told them and I don't have a specific date or anything, but if Oregon wants to, I would like to visit."
What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?
"My overall interest in Oregon is their defense and their scheme. Coach Don Pellum, his defense is very similar to Dorsey's defense in how they have a rover safety and a free safety. Me playing a rover safety, that would be the perfect fit and transition because I would feel more comfortable playing there in their defensive scheme...Just the way they play. They win a lot of games, they have great uniforms, and coach Chip Kelly; I like the way he coaches, he's very aggressive and he has a good time with his players. He has fun with his players, so that's one thing I like, personally. He's an aggressive coach."
How would you describe yourself as a player?
"I'm very smart on the field; I make good decisions. I'm not very athletic, but strong and very physical; a physical player who loves the game and has a passion for the game...kind of like how LSU's defense is with Tyrann Mathieu and Eric Reid. They're very aggressive and that's how I play."
What are you looking for in a program?
"Who has the major I want. I want to major in pharmacology, so if a school has that major, that's one thing. I want to go to a good school and a good program where their games are televised -- their day games are televised, their night games are televised -- and is a school that is pretty much known. Another thing is coaching; that's one thing that's very important. Coaching and the academics."
What are some of the offers you currently hold from other schools?
"I have an offer from Ohio, Arizona State, Colorado, and San Jose State."
Are there any other schools out there who you've been talking to and could see yourself possibly getting an offer from?
"Yes. UCLA, Washington, California; those are schools that talk to me and say they're going to offer me someday, just not right now."
Do you have a top five or list of favorites out of the schools you've been in contact with?
"No, not right now. I have no favorites, pretty much everything is the same."
As far as camps and unofficial visits go, where have you been and where do you plan on going over the next few months?
"In the past, I went to UCLA and USC on unofficial visits and went to their Junior Days, I've been to Cal and Arizona State, but the next two weeks, I've planned an unofficial visit to Washington with my coach and another defensive back, Daquawn Brown. That's one of the unofficials I'll be going to, but with official visits, I'm not sure yet."
