Bolden Plans August Visit

Speed, speed, and more speed. Though small in stature, Rancho Cucamonga (CA) Los Osos three-star wide receiver Victor Bolden casts a foreboding presence on a football field, as his speed and agility poses a serious problem for many a defense. With four offers in hand, Bolden says he's wide open right now and is hoping that he can pick up a few more Pac-12 offers before the summer is up.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"Not yet. I do have an offer from Oregon State though."

What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?

"Actually, Oregon was the first school that I really started getting in contact with. I have a good relationship with coach (Scott) Frost. It's a very prestigious program and I feel like I can really fit in to the offense and I love what they're doing down there."

When was the last time you were in touch with coach Frost or anyone from Oregon?

"Probably last month...that was during the May evaluation period."

In your conversations with coach Frost, what kinds of things have the two of you discussed?

"He really likes me because of my speed and he likes what I can do in open space. He said I would be a good fit for their program, but more importantly, he wants me to just stick to the process and don't take it personally...they like to really evaluate each and every person they like to offer. They said that to just keep doing what you're doing and hopefully an offer will come in soon."

What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?

"I definitely have high interest because I feel like with my style of play definitely fits with their program. They've been recruiting me since the beginning and I've always liked their school, so it's pretty high."

Is there something specific that stands out to you about Oregon when you consider them as maybe a potential option?

"What really stands out to me is their pace. I like how they're always very uptempo, I like how they run everything real fast, and that's just my style; I like to go real fast all the time."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I can definitely spread out the defense, I have an ability to make plays in space, and I'm versatile, in that, I can run after the catch and I can catch and have good routes."

Is there a player at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after at all?

"I don't know. I kind of like DeSean Jackson and Mike Wallace...(I like) their playmaker ability. With their speed alone -- even though they say they're undersized -- they still go out there and handle their own. They're able to make plays with their speed and score touchdowns."

What are you looking for in a program?

"The main thing will be location, how if I didn't get to play football or got hurt or something would it be a school that I would like to go to for four years, academics, and just the overall atmosphere of the people."

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to study when you get to college?

"Yeah, I've got it down to either kinesiology or business."

What are some of the offers that you currently hold right now from other schools?

"I just picked up Utah, I have Oregon State, Hawaii, and Eastern Washington."

Are there any other schools who you've been in close contact with, but have yet to receive an offer from?

"Yeah, California, Washington State, Arizona State, Boston College and Northwestern."

Do you have a top five or a list of favorites at this point?

"I don't have a top five right now. I'm kind of taking the process by storm. I'm just going to open it up to all schools at this point."

As far as camps and unofficial visits go, where do you plan on going over the next couple of months?

"Right now, I'm going to be going to the B2G Elite camp coming up this weekend and then, probably in the beginning of August, I'll probably be going out to visit Oregon State and most likely after my Oregon State visit, I'll visit Oregon as well."
