DAT and Ducks Cruise in First Half

EUGENE -- De'Anthony Thomas scored two touchdowns and had 73 yards of receiving, 61 yards rushing and 86 yards of punt returns to off-set some Oregon team mistakes in the first half and hold a 35-7 lead over Tennessee Tech.

Thomas scored on a 59-yard rush from scrimmage and a 16-yard reception for a touchdown. Additionally the super sophomore was headed into the endzone after catching a Marcus Mariota pass of that covered 49 yards before Thomas coughed up the ball on the Tech 2-yard line. Offensive tackle Jake Fisher pounced on the ball in the endzone for the touchdown.

Kenjon Barner scored the first Duck touchdown on a 1-yard rush.

Marcus Mariota was 19-of-25 for 266 yards and three TDs. Mariota also hit Colt Lyerla for a 4-yard score.

However things were not as smooth as Oregon would have liked. Tech scored its only points of the game when a punted ball touched Thomas (the punt returner) and gave Tech great field position and allowed Tre Lamb to hit Da' Rick Rogers or a 23 scoring play.

The Ducks also gave up a sack and Mariota was intercepted.

The Duck defense though sacked Lamb five times and Kiko Alonso intercepted Lamb once which ultimately led to the score by Lyerla.
