Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week

Oregon's senior linebacker Michael Clay was honored on Monday by being named Pac-12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in leading the Duck defense in shutting out Arizona on Saturday night, 49-0.

Michael Clay recorded 13 total tackles (10 solos), including two tackles for loss and a sack, plus forced a fumble in the Ducks' lopsided win over No. 22 Arizona. According to the conference's official website, Clay "was instrumental in limiting a potent Arizona offense to just 332 yards of total offense (the Wildcats had averaged 604.7 yards of total offense in their three previous games) and just 89 yards on the ground."

Clay is the first player from the No. 2 ranked Ducks to be honored by the conference this season. Oregon is 4-0 for the year and 1-0 in conference play.

Next Saturday Oregon travels to Seattle for a neutral site game with Washington State.
