Ogundeko Talks Recruiting

Standing at 6-3 and 235 lbs., Ebenezer Ogundeko is exactly the player that several big schools are looking at as a linebacker or defensive end. However, the three-star senior from Thomas Jefferson HS in Brooklyn, NY, discussed how he's settled down on the recruiting front as his team has jumped out to a 3-0 start.

Oregon is one of several schools interested in Ogundeko, however it is one of only two he is slated to visit as of now, with the other being Florida.

His Florida visit is set for Oct. 6 when the Gators take on LSU in Gainesville, and he is scheduled to visit the Ducks on Oct. 18 in Tempe, AZ when they take on Arizona State, another school that has offered him.

Ogundeko has not been in contact with Oregon coaches as of late because of a lost phone number, but he says that he is still taking the school into consideration.

"They've been recruiting me very hard," Ogundeko said. "I feel they're a pretty good program."

Ogundeko was brief when discussing the other schools interested in him. Notre Dame is in contact with him weekly, and Syracuse, Ole Miss are other schools he is considering. Syracuse, Florida and Notre Dame were the schools that he was set to choose between in the summer before he changed his mind.

"I've pushed it off to the side," he said of recruiting.

Until the visits, the soft spoken Ogundeko said he's going to keep trying to lead his team to a championship.

"I'm just going to keep on working hard and keep training," he said.
