Ducks Throttle Buffaloes 56-0 in First Half

EUGENE, ORE., -- It didn't take long for the BCS No. 4 Oregon Ducks to take control of its game with Colorado, one minute and 47 seconds to be exact before senior running back Kenjon Barner culminated a five play, 57 yard drive and waltzed in from the 1 for a touchdown. Seven touchdowns later, Oregon went into the lockerroom leading 56-0.

Kenjon Barner's day seemed to be over at halftime and for his 30 minutes of work he gained 103 yards on nine carries and scored two touchdowns. The senior running back also scored his second TD on a 24-yard run just after the second quarter started. Barner's running mate, De'Anthony Thomas had 97 yards rushing on five carries, scoring once on a nine-yard run for the second TD of the game. Thomas, who has been quiet lately, ignited the crowd with an electrifying 73-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Quarterback Marcus Mariota ran for a score on a five-yard rush then followed up with a scoring pass to Bralon Addison to conclude the first quarter scoring. Mariota also had a TD pass to Daryle Hawkins in the second quarter. Mariota sat down and Bryon Bennett came in the score on a six yard rush. Kicker Robby Beard recorded eight PATs in the first half.

Oregon had a total of 447 yards in the first half compared to Colorado's 104 yards.
