Mark Helfrich has been on the Oregon staff since 2009 when when he was named to be the offensive coordinator for Chip Kelly.
Long regarded as the most experienced in the brand of football Oregon has become famous for -- a high tempo, no-huddle spread offense, Helfrich will take over from Kelly, who has departed for the Philadelphia Eagles.
A source told eDuck Sports that if Helfrich is elevated to the head coaching position expect Scott Frost to assume the duties of offensive coordinator.
On Wednesday, reports also indicated that defensive line coach Jerry Azzinaro would follow Kelly to Eagles along with three graduate assistants, Matthew Harper, Todd Lyght and Greg Austin.
