Tartabull Talks Recruiting

Mission Hills (Calif.) Alemany safety Quentin Tartabull has seen his stock rise as he's been entertained by a number of top schools. But, who is recruiting him the hardest?

While some become jaded with the recruiting process rather quickly, Alemany safety Quentin Tartabull has a different perspective.

"I'm definitely a part of the group that enjoys it," Tartabull said. "This is what I do, this is what I love. All of this talk about football just gets me more excited. I love doing it."

There's a reason why Tartabull should be happy, as he is talking to several top school's in the Pac-12 early on.

"I'm talking to USC, UCLA, Washington State, Arizona State, Utah, really most of the Pac-12 and Tennessee," Tartabull said. "I would say USC and UCLA are recruiting me the hardest right now."

Tartabull has also been talking to Oregon, having met offensive coordinator Scott Frost and having a conversation with him at his school about his grades and skills.

"It was an honor meeting him," Tartabull said. "It was all such a surprise."

Tartabull has also been receiving emails and Facebook contact from Oregon. He expanded on why he likes the program.

"Definitely because of the athletic program and how they play on the field with their speed," Tartabull said. "Their location is wonderful."

And speed is something Tartabull knows something about. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound defensive back said that he believes it is one of his most underrated attributes.

"I play linebacker and I'm going as a safety," Tartabull said. "They don't see the speed I have when I'm at linebacker."

Tartabull has checked out a few schools thus far at USC and Arizona State, taking part in their Junior Days. He also had a successful trip to the Nike Football Training Camp in Los Angeles a few weeks ago.

"It was a nice day out there," Tartabull said. "I got ranked the highest Sparq rating and performed pretty well."

Tartabull said for now he is taking it easy and doesn't have any concrete plans to visit other schools.

"The recruiting process is just getting started. I'd for sure like to take all of my visits and see where I can fit best," Tartabull said.
