Ducks Sweep 200s at Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. - Oregon runners won three heats of the women's 200 meters - all in all-conditions best times - Friday at the Mt SAC Relays, while Anne Kesselring set a personal best in the 1,500 meters.

Junior Phyllis Francis went under 23.00 for the first time in her career at 200 meters as the Queens, N.Y., native took her heat in 22.96 with a plus-4.0 tailwind. That was the top time of all the heats on Friday and the seventh fastest in the nation this season.

Jenna Prandini continued her impressive freshman season. The Clovis, Calif., native captured her 200 heat in 23.59 with a legal wind, which moved her into a tie for seventh on the UO career top 10 with Mandy White.

Chizoba Okodogbe also won her heat in 23.83. That was the 11th-best time in school history for the junior from Antioch, Calif.

At the longer distance, Kesselring finished seventh overall and third among collegians in 4:15.23. That was a personal best by more than a second and moved the senior from Nurnberg, Germany, to No. 9 on the UO list.

Also in that race, Becca Friday and Annie Leblanc ran seasonal bests. Friday, a senior from Bellingham, Wash., was ninth in 4:16.07, while Leblanc, a freshman from Quebec, was 12th in 4:17.64.
