Decision Could Be Near

Sports Illustrated reporter Thayer Evans is reporting via Twitter that the University of Oregon has appeared before the NCAA infractions committee on Friday, April 20, 2013 regarding possible rules violations involving Will Lyles, a high school football scout from Houston, Texas.

According to a series of tweets by Thayer, former head coach Chip Kelly attended the hearing and told the NCAA committee that Oregon's dealings with Lyles was the same as other schools that utilized Lyles' scouting services.

Thayer further reports that the infractions committee is expected to make a decision regarding sanctions in the next 60 to 90 days.

Lyles, according to released documents had received $25,000 as a payment for services rendered in 2010 for information on players including Lache Seastrunk during the 2009 football season.
