Wallace Shortstop of the Year Award Watchlist

EUGENE, Ore. – J.J. Altobelli has been named to the latest watch list for the Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year Award. The Ducks' senior is one of 14 players on the list.

Altobelli has the highest fielding percentage (.981) on the list while batting .283 with 23 RBI. He has started 55 of Oregon's 56 games this season. Altobelli has been remarkably steady during his career committing only 30 errors on 853 chances in 224 career games.

The Newport Beach, Calif., native is Oregon's all-time leader in four separate statistical categories, while ranking in the top 10 in eight others. He has more starts (221) than any Duck in history, while also holding school records for at bats (776), hits (205) and runs scored (119). He is second all-time in doubles with 38, just two behind teammate Ryon Healy, while also ranking among the school's all-time leaders in RBI (3rd), hit by pitches (3rd), multiple-hit games (3rd), walks (4th), intentional walks (4th), multiple-RBI games (4th) and stolen bases (8th).
