Masina was at the Oregon NFTC on Sunday, but did not participate due to a hip injury. He stuck around on Monday to get a closer look at the facilities and the city of Eugene..
"It's really impressive," Masina said of Oregon.
Masina projects to be an effective linebacker at the next level, and Oregon linebackers coach Don Pellum has been his primary contact. During his visit, the 6-foot-4, 205-pound prospect talked with the coach about why Oregon is interested in him.
"We sat down with (Pellum) and watched film and talked about football scheme stuff," Masina said. "He was telling me I was the perfect body and perfect frame for what they want, so we will see how it goes."
After visiting three schools in a weekend, Masina is learning that different schools have different priorities when it comes to recruiting.
"Some are more straightforward about this and that," Masina said. "Some are more strict on football and some are on the same line with academics."
The sophomore will be busy with throughout the summer with basketball, but has no plans of slowing down with football and plans on taking more trips.
