BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The Oregon Ducks picked up a verbal commitment today from Arrion Springs, 6-0, 190 San Antonio (Texas) Roosevelt HS today during a nationally broadcast of The Opening held on The Nike Campus. The 4-star corner back ranked 12th nationally at his position chose Oregon over his home state school, the University of Texas.
Arrion Springs was in the state of Oregon attending The Opening and is the seventh potential student-athlete to make a verbal pledge to Oregon.
While the Ducks are deep in the secondary for the 2013-14 season, two players, Ifo Ekpre-Olomu and Terrance Mitchell are entering their junior season and could attract much attention from NFL scouts this year.
Springs has also made friends with another Oregon defensive back target, Mattrell McGraw from River Ridge, Louisiana. McGraw and Springs were actually roommates during the event held in Beaverton.
eDuck.com's Robby Boydstun spoke with Springs following his announcement.
