Irvin Named All-American

According to a media release on Monday from the Oregon Athletic Department, LHP Cole Irvin has been named first-team All-America by Perfect Game.

The freshman All-America honor is the fourth of the summer for Irvin, who was previously named to the Louisville Slugger, Baseball America and NCBWA freshman All-America teams.

Cole Irvin set an Oregon record with a 12 win season and earning honorable mention All-Pac-12. He had a record of 12-3 with a 2.48 ERA, with four complete games.

Irvin also set a record of innings pitched (116) and is ranked for a tie in third place for all-time starts (16). He was 7-3 with a 2.88 ERA in conference play and complete two games.

Irvin was named the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week twice as well as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) National Player of the Week once. He earned a spot on the Eugene Regional All-Tournament Team after throwing a complete game where he allowed just one run on six hits while striking out nine.
