Hot and Cold Ducks Hold 17-7 Lead at the Half

EUGENE – The Oregon Ducks appeared to struggle at times during the second quarter of its game with the Utah Utes but still hold a 17-7 lead at halftime. Quarterback Marcus Mariota was sacked three times but was 13-for-16 for 180 yards and two touchdowns.

Marcus Mariota showed signs that he was not able run as he has all season with the minus three yards of rushing all resulting from the three sacks. Oregon's rushing for the game so far is just 10 yards as Thomas Tyner had 15 yards rushing while De'Anthony Thomas added 11 and Byron Marshall had seven.

Oregon scored first when Mariota hit Thomas with an eight yard reception for score. The Ducks followed that up with a 31-yard Matt Wogan field goal. Utah then got on the scoreboard when Ute quarterback hit tight end Jake Murphy on a 34-yard scoring play.

The Ducks then turned around with a 45-second scoring drive culminated by another TD pass from Mariota to Josh Huff to make the score 17-7 following the successful point after.

Lucky Radley is the leading rusher for the game with 31 net yards.

Schultz is 7-for-14 for 89 yards, the TD pass to Murphy and one interception by Oregon's Terrance Mitchell.
