Swain Answers Three Questions

In two days, Jimmie Swain us a 6-3, 230-pound four star linebacker out of Lee's Summit High in Lee's Summit Missouri, will sign a National Letter of Intent making his commitment to Oregon official. Swain answered three questions about why he chose the Ducks and what his expectations are.

Q: What made you chose to go to Oregon?

A: "It wasn't any one particular thing. After I took my official visits I got to know all of the coaches and they were just great people. I felt like even if I wasn't playing football I could get along with them and they could mentor me. Also, being around the players, I felt like I could be friends with them."

Q: You're listed as an outside linebacker. Do you expect to play just outside ‘backer?

A: "According to (defensive coordinator Don) Pellum, I'll be moving around a lot. He wants me to make sure I know all three linebacker positions. I'm already 6-3, 230-pounds, I should come in at 235-pounds, so I'll be big enough to play in the middle."

Q: Do you expect to play right away?

A: "Of course my expectation for myself is to come in and play right away. But, if they think I'm not ready yet, redshirting is never a bad thing."
