Ducks Finish Seventh at The Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. – The Oregon men's golf team had a tough finish to The Prestige tournament Wednesday afternoon, firing in a 287 (+3) on the final round of play and finished in seventh with a team score of 285-281-287—853 (+1).

Ryann Ree had the best round for Oregon turning in a 70 and finished the tournament in a tie for 16th with a card of 70-72-70—212 (-1). His tie for 16th is the second top-20 finish this season for Ree and the fourth of his career.

"We played the back nine poorly all week," head coach Casey Martin said. "That was a frustrating finish, but hopefully the guys are learning how to deal with the pressure and we will get over this hump."

Stanford narrowly held on for the win over Pac-12 foe, Washington, with final card of 269-280-282—831 (-21) to edge Washington by two strokes, 286-277-270—833 (-19). UCLA finished in third behind the Huskies at 11-under on the day and a total score of 282-286-273—841 (-11).

The Cardinal's Patrick Rodgers also barely held on for the win on the individual competition over Arizona State's Max Rottluff (69-69-67—205) by one stroke with a card of 65-68-71—204 (-9).

Zach Foushee was the only other Duck to not finish over par, firing a 71 on the day to make even par. Thomas Lim suffered the least at the hands of the back nine, shooting 1-under par during that stretch, but finished the tournament with card of 73-69-72—214 (+1) to end in a tie for 24th.

Brandon McIver was hit the hardest on the back nine as the sophomore had four bogies on top of his two on the front nine to finish the three-day tournament with a card of 71-68-76—215 (+2). Sulman Raza who improved during the tournament wasn't able to get past the hump and finished the day 3-over par and final card of 76-75-74—225 (+12).

The Ducks will stay in the Palm Springs, Calif., area to compete in the Wyoming Cowboy Desert Intercollegiate. Oregon begins play on Friday, Feb. 21, at 7:10 a.m. (PST) and will finish out the tournament on Sunday, Feb. 23.
