Hanson picks up offer from Ducks

Eureka (Calif.) offensive guard picked up his third Pac-12 offer on Monday evening.

Eureka offensive guard Jake Hanson picked up a big offer from Oregon on Monday evening. The Ducks are the third team to extend an offer to Hanson, joining fellow Pac-12 programs Arizona and California.

Hanson received the offer from offensive line coach Steve Greatwood after the veteran coach stopped in and watched him workout.

"I never thought I would get an offer from Oregon," Hanson said. "Now that I have one it's really exciting."

Hanson spoke with Greatwood around 5:30 Monday evening.

"It was fairly quick," Hanson said of the phone conversation. "He just said that from what he heard from the people he talked to that I was a standup guy, that I would fit in fine at Oregon, and that he wants me to be a Duck."

Now armed with the offer, Hanson said it will impact his recruitment significantly.

"I've still got to take visits to places and make sure I see all my options, but Oregon is looking pretty good right now that for sure,"

Hanson will visit Oregon at the end of June after attending a wedding.
