NFTC Oregon Preview

This Sunday, Autzen Stadium will be the host of the final Nike Football Training Camp of the spring. With only a few spots left to fill for The Opening next month, a number of athletes will be looking grab one of them. Here's a few of the big names from the 2015 class that will be competing at each position.

QB's - Headlining the quarterback class will be USC verbal commit Ricky Town. The U.S. Army All-American five-star quarterback is ranked third at his position by and was once verbally committed to Alabama.

Another top name will be four-star Spokane (Wash.) QB Brett Rypien. With offers from the likes of Washington, Washington State, Mississippi State, and Oregon State, he is currently committed to Boise State after throwing for over 4,000 yards and 57 touchdowns as a junior.

Three-star Bothell (Wash.) QB Ross Bowers will be in attendance. He holds offers from Colorado State, Wake Forest, Montana, Eastern Washington, James Madison and Northern Arizona. Teammate Jackson Keimig, who has offers from Montana State, Bryant, Dartmouth, Columbia and Idaho will join him.

Camas (Wash.) QB Nolan Henry will also be there. Henry has a 4.33 GPA and offers from Stanford, Colorado, Washington State and Eastern Washington.

Rounding out the group are some local prospects. One of them is Roosevelt High School's Kimane Domena, who will likely be a BYU Cougar soon. Tigard's JT Greenough and Silverton's Cole Chandler, a pair of Top 10 QB's in the state according to Northwest Elite Index, will join Domena at Autzen.

RB -

Local Four-star Central Catholic running back Cameron Scarlett will be one of the top running backs at Autzen on Sunday. He holds a number of offers, but is being recruiting significantly by BYU, Stanford and Oregon. He'll be joined by Chase Morrison from rival program Jesuit.

Outside of Oregon, three-star St.George (Utah) RB Bridger Cowdin will be in attendance. He holds offers from Weber State and Southern Utah, but told analyst Doug Kimmel recently that he is hearing from a host of other FBS schools like BYU, Nebraska, Utah and Utah State.


A number of three-star prospects will be in attendance on Sunday.

Stevensville (Mont.) tight end Jesse Sims will be one of them. He holds offers from Colorado State, Oregon State and Tulsa as well as both Montana and Montana State. Seattle (Wash.) TE Erik Rottsolk will join Sims as one of the few tight ends out there. He has offers from Montana State and Montana and caught 37 passes for five TD's last year.

Evergreen (Wash.) prospect Justice Murphy is seeing his stock continue to rise after picking up offers from Oregon State and Washington State on Friday. Committed to Utah, he'll be one of the top wide receivers competing on Sunday.

Napa (Calif.) WR Austin Aaron, a Cal commit, and Orem (Utah) Alohi Gilman will also be looking to make an impact on Sunday.

OL -

Four-star Highland (Ida.) offensive guard Tristen Hoge will be the big name among the offensive lineman. The top guard in the West region, Hoge has been committed to Notre Dame since December.

Locally, Sprague offensive lineman Levi Long, one of the top ranked lineman in Oregon by NEI will be in attendance hoping to build off of his successful performance from last year.

Three-star offensive tackle Blake Brandel will be joined by teammates T.J. Salu and Riley Gallant from Central Catholic. Brandel holds three offers from Oregon State, Washington State and Nevada. Nick Miller from Jesuit will also be in attendance.

Eastside Catholic center Alex Neale will be one of the few Washington lineman prospects in attendance on Sunday.

DL -

Four-star Lakes (Wash.) defensive end Benning Potoa'e headlines the defensive lineman group. Holding offers from every Pac-12 program except Stanford and others such as Ohio State and Wisconsin, Potoa'e will certainly be one to keep tabs on for a shot at The Opening.

Lehi (Utah) defensive end Steven Latu will also be in attendance. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect is currently committed to Southern Utah. Also coming out of Utah will be Orem DT Sampson Saluone, who has offers from Weber State, North Texas and Eastern Washington. He recently told analyst Doug Kimmel that he is hearing from over 20 programs.

Finally, local Silverton prospect Camryn Clokey will be at the camp. Clokey is among the Top 10 linemen in Oregon according to NEI.

LB -

Four-star Salt Lake City (Utah) middle linebacker Christian Folau will be there. The 6-foot-1, 240-pound junior is ranked seventh among middle linebackers in the country and holds offers from the likes of Washington, Wisconsin, Stanford, Oklahoma State, TCU, Utah and more.

A pair of three-star prospects will be in attendance as well. Westlake (Calif.) middle linebacker Reno Dubreuil holds an offer from Penn and was named 2013 All CIF PAC-5 Linebacker last season. Honolulu (Ha.) middle linebacker Ronley Lakalaka holds an offer from Hawaii and had 86 total tackles and 11 sacks last season.

DB -

Four-star Marysville (Wash.) corner and Washington State commit Austin Joyner will headline the DB class. Joyner was 1st team All-Conference as a running back and corner last season and earned 1st team All-State honors as a running back as well.

Three-star Corona (Calif.) Evan Tyler will be there. He had 96 tackles last season and holds an offer from San Jose State. He'll be joined by a fellow three-star, Fresno (Calif.) corner A.J. Greeley. He's currently committed to hometown Fresno State but also holds offers from Washington State, Oregon State and Arizona State among others.

Also in attendance will be Tempe (Ariz.) safety Kamron Johnson, who holds offers from Montana, South Dakota State and UNLV.
