Mariota: Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week

For the second time this season, Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota has been named Pac-12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Mariota was honored by the conference today for his performance last Friday against California at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

Marcus Mariota threw for 326 yards and five touchdowns as the Oregon Ducks overhauled the California Bears, 59-41. Much of Mariota's work was accomplished in the first half when he threw for 190 yards and three scores.

Mariota's performance also set a new University record for total yards passing of 8,299 yards.

Last year, Mariota was selected fist team All-Pac-12 and so far this season has 2,283 yards and 24 TD passes, while only giving up one interception. Mariota is also the Ducks' second leading rusher with 325 net yards and seven TDs.

Oregon is the AP's No. 5 team with a 7-1 season record (4-1 conference) and will take on Stanford (5-3, 3-2) at Autzen Stadium on Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
