Mariota, led the Pac-12 Conference Champion Ducks to a 12-1 season record and 8-1 in Pac-12 Conference play. So far this year Mriota has thrown for 3,783 yards, 38 touchdowns on 254-for-372 passing (68.3 percent) with only two interceptions and a quarterback efficiency rating of 186.3 in 13 games. He rushed for a net 669-yards, scoring 16 touchdowns. Mariota also had one pass reception for a touchdown giving him a total of 55 touchdowns scored this season, which is a Pac-12 Conference record for touchdowns scored in a single season.
All season long, Mariota has been projected as the Heisman favorite and many feel he will win the award by a large margin of votes. Should he become the Heisman winner Mariota will be the first player with state of Oregon ties since 1962 when Oregon State's Terry Baker won the award.
