The Ducks played an aggressive zone defense to help neutralize the bigger Utah front line and keep the Ute's gunners from hitting from the outside. The Ducks took turns in coming up with big plays. Dillon Brooks hit outside shots and came up with one of the most spectacular slam dunks, going of the top of the Utah defense, much to the enjoyment of the capacity crowd at Matthew Knight arena.

Brooks finished with 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds in what may have been his best overall game of the season. Joseph Young had 14 and Elgin Cook had 12 including going 8-for-8 in free throw shooting. Dwayne Benjamin hit key shots and finished with nine points and Jordan Bell was a defensive force inside and had six rebounds.

While Young struggled with his outside shot, going 5-for-16 in field goal shooting including only 1-of-8 in 3-point shooting, the Ducks overall shot 44.4 percent from the field on 24-of-54 shooting. The Ducks helped their own cause hitting 15-of-18 free throws. Despite a definite size advantage for the Utes, the Ducks out-rebounded Utah, 36-31.

Delon Wright was the leading scorer of the game with 20 and was the only Ute to finish in double-figures. Utah shot 35.8 percent for the game on 19-of-53 attempts and were 12-for-17 from the free throw line.

Oregon improves to 20-8 for the season and are 10-5 in coherence play solidly in third spot in the conference race. Utah still hold onto second spot in conference play despite the loss. The Utes are 21-5 for year and 11-3 in the conference.

The win marks the fifth straight year Oregon has won at least 20 games.
