McCormick sets decision date

Bend (Ore.) Summit tight end Cam McCormick discusses his unofficial visit to Oregon and his decision timeline.

Cam McCormick is ready to pick a college. The 2016 Bend (Ore.) Summit tight end spoke with on Monday night about his April 2, announcement date and how he will go about making his decision.

"I'm going to look at everything and see what the good's are and the bad's are," he said. "Then I'm going to compare them. You know, what I feel is right for me and what that school has to offer and what will be the best fit for me."

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound McCormick holds offers from Oregon State, Oregon, Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Montana State, Washington and Washington State. Following an unofficial visit to Oregon over the weekend, he said he hasn't ruled out anybody yet.

"All of the schools that have offered me are all out on the table still," he said.

During his Oregon visit, McCormick saw more of the updated facilities that he had missed out on the last time he was in Eugene. He also took in the men's basketball team's 69-58 upset of ninth-ranked Utah on Sunday, an experience he highly enjoyed.

"It was such an awesome game," he said. "It was crazy. It was so loud in there."

With tight ends coach Tom Osborne out of town, McCormick got a chance to pick the brain of head coach Mark Helfrich. He praised Helfrich for the way he seemed to care about his players.

"It went really good," McCormick said of the discussion. "It was just good to be able to ask him some questions and get to know what he has and what he looks at in the program."

In-between now and his decision date, McCormick will visit both Arizona programs and Oregon State. Although he picked up a recent offer from Washington State, he said he is unsure if he will visit Pullman before he makes a choice.

When asked if he had a leader, McCormick responded "no."

"But the Oregon visit went really well," he said. "So I mean, if anything, possibly Oregon."
