How does Ducks offer impact Elliott?

Four-star Houston (Tex.) Westside defensive tackle Jordan Elliott talks about his latest offer from Oregon.

On Wednesday, Oregon defensive line coach Ron Aiken offered Houston (Tex.) Westside defensive tackle, and Baylor verbal commit, Jordan Elliott.

Elliott, a top six prospect at his position in the Midlands and a member of the Scout 300, announced the news on Twitter and spoke with eDuck.com shortly after picking up the offer.

“It’s a big deal,” Elliott said. “Oregon, that’s a real prestigious school. They’re known for dominating. It’s just cool to be a part of something like that.”

According to Elliott, Aiken extended the offer once he saw his satisfactory ACT score. The two have been in contact for some time and have discussed why’s there more to like about Elliott than just test scores.

“He says I’m just big and physical,” he said. “I get after people.”

Since the end of January Elliott has been verbally committed to Baylor and, as of now, his status hasn’t changed. However, he noted that God can work in mysterious ways.

“You never know,” he said. “I may be at Oregon next year. Everything is just taken into consideration.”

Elliott intends on taking an official visit to Oregon if there’s a spot open, but he could make it to the state earlier if he has a strong NFTC showing and earns and invite to The Opening over the summer. He is still getting to know what the university has to offer from an all-around perspective, but is excited by what the athletics side has to offer.

“On the academic I don’t that much,” he said. “I just know that they have what I want to major in. But on the athletics side, the strength and conditioning, the teachers, the things you learn, it’s just all great.”

Elliott plans to major in business marketing in college.
