Theo Howard is rated 4-stars by Scout.com and is the seventh best player at his position. Howard verbally committed to Oregon in March, making him one of the first commits of the 2015 class. Throughout the spring and summer he had repeatedly indicated he was a solid Oregon commit, even though other programs continued to pursue him. He had been one of Oregon's top student recruiters as he reached out to other players in hopes of persuading them to join him in Eugene for their college career. Plus he had expressed plans of enrolling in school in Winter Term 2016.
Then suddenly on Sunday, as the Ducks were ready to begin the second week of fall camp for the 2015 season, Howard suddenly pulled the plug and announced he had de-committed from Oregon.
Howard, in a Twitter message, cited the chief reason for the de-commitment so that he could be sure he was making the best decision for his future.
